2018/6/10: Spots available for children (36 months or older). Please contact us for more information.
Sakura Childcare combines the best of all three types of childcare into one:
1) a Childcare centre with a fulltime experienced Early Childhood Educator on-staff,
2) a Family Childcare which is similar to a traditional family setting, and
3) a Japanese Language school which provides all kinds of programs in Japanese and promotes learning Japanese culture.
The maximum total children we are eligible take is 7 and we have 2 to 3 staff supervising all the time. This ratio is higher than the required regulation and gives all children more personal attention, better care, and more personalized learning.
We have an all-Japanese staff including our Early Childhood Educator who has multiple years of experience in Japan providing programs including reading Japanese books, singing songs, hand play, arts and crafts, etc. Children will learn proper Japanese and Japanese culture in a variety of fun methods.
Knowledge of Japanese is not required.
Let the fun and learning begin with happy smiles and high energy.
9:00 〜 9:25
Start the day with Radio calisthenics (Radio Taiso) and stretching which will help awaken the childrens’ bodies and minds.
9:25 〜 9:45
A nutritious morning light snack includes items from at least two food groups from Canadian Food Guide is provided.
9:45 〜 12:00
Most of the morning activity is for physical development where we will conduct a variety of exercise activities indoor and outdoor (weather permitting).
12:00 〜 12:30
After lots of fun exercise, a nutritious lunch including items from at least four food groups from Canadian Food Guide is provided. Typically, our lunch is a Japanese-style sodium-reduced meal. When eating meals together in a fun and happy group setting as friends, even those children with smaller appetites tend to eat more than usual!
12:30 〜 14:30
Children who require a nap can sleep quietly while other children who don’t sleep will spend quiet resting time on their mattress.
14:30 〜 15:00
children might change clothes with our staff.
15:00 〜 15:30
A nutritious afternoon filling snack includes items from at least two food groups from Canadian Food Guide is provided.
15:30 〜 17:00
So much fun to learn, our afternoon activities are the most educational segment of the day. Our Early Childhood Educator will practice one theme song for the month, introduce a seasonal cultural activity, tell stories using a felt storyboard, and much more! All activities are tailored appropriately for different age groups so all of the children can enjoy.
17:00 〜 17:45
With our staff’s guidance, children will learn how to pack their belongings to their bags and participate in a quiet activity in preparation for the happy moment – parent's/guardian’s end of day pickup!
Great job everyone! We look forward to your big, happy smiles again next day!
